Meet Jaffrey

Jaffrey Blanks

Managing Director

Jaffrey graduated from Drake University with a major in Human Resource Management and Sales Marketing. Jaffrey got into the recruiting industry shortly after graduating and has spent the last 20 years helping companies hire the right people in the right seats; while assisting candidates with finding jobs that truly align with what they want to do. He enjoys that he has a career that allows him to have a positive impact on the lives of others. He often finds himself as a trusted advisor to his clients as they brainstorm solutions to their talent attraction and retention needs; which is also very rewarding.

In his spare time, you will typically see him multi-tasking while listening to an audiobook. He may have graduated, but he never gets tired of learning. He LOVES being a Husband and Father to his four children. They have a lot of fun together as a family and laughter is at the center of their household. They really like to travel and are in the process of trying to visit all of the national parks. He also utilizes his time to give back by being involved with non-profits. He loves volunteering with different organizations that are focused on improving the world around us.

What are your hobbies?
I love movement, so I would prefer to play a sport or actually go to an event rather than watch it on TV. I enjoy Rugby, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Running, working out. Of course, my hobbies are now defined as coaching whatever sports my kids are playing at the time.

If you could live anywhere for one year, where would it be and why?
I would choose Italy. It’s one of the few places still on my bucket list that I’ve never been to but have always wanted to go. I know I would love the food. I would enjoy seeing the architecture throughout the various cities there.

What is your taste in music?
I love live music whether it be at a dive bar or at a concert. I run the full spectrum when it comes to music. Dave Mathews to JayZ, Halsey to Stapleton, Dennis Lloyd to Khalid. I played saxophone for many years so I do hold a soft spot for any musicians that embrace the horn.

Who would you cast to play you in a movie about your life?
Michael B. Jordan

What is one piece of advice you would give to a jobseeker?
Customize your resume for each job that you are applying to. The saying is true…you do not get a second chance to make that first impression. So make your first impression count. Invest the time to ensure your resume aligns with the job description. Go beyond the primary duties and try to a mention all of the “nice to haves” that you possess as well.

I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work at a purpose driven staffing firm that strives to make a positive impact on the communities in which we operate. As an organization, we truly value relationships and its evident by the deep connections that we have developed with our candidates for over the past 50 years. I appreciate how we truly partner with our clients and come alongside them to assist in their staffing and retention efforts.
