Tom Goettl
President
Tom graduated from Winona State University and has worked in staffing and recruiting for the past 20 years. He joined Konik in 1998 as a Recruiter until 2003, when he left to work for a national staffing company. Several years later, in 2009, he returned to the company as co-owner and Vice President. Tom returned because of his strong relationship with Brad and George Konik, and his experience of working for a company that is so committed to its employees. Tom handles marketing, technology, and talent acquisition for Konik and implements the company’s vision.
As a fitness enthusiast, Tom’s free time is spent weightlifting, running and learning from other business owners. He has completed twenty-six marathons, and his current fitness passion is weightlifting. As one of 15 siblings, Tom has no shortage of nieces and nephews, meaning he enjoys spending family gathering catching up with everyone.
What are your hobbies?
I love running, weightlifting, and talking business with anyone.
If you could live anywhere for one year, where would it be and why?
I’d live on the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica because it’s a vast area of mainly untouched wildlife. I’d love to live in an animal sanctuary helping Capuchin monkeys, sloths, and macaw parrots return to the wild.
What is your taste in music?
I can name any 80’s hair band song in five notes or less.
Who would you cast to play you in a movie about your life?
Joaquin Phoenix
What is one piece of advice you would give to a jobseeker?
Try to think of the interview as a conversation over coffee rather than an interview. Be professional, concise, and genuine in your dialogue, and make a personal connection early in the conversation to build rapport.
Tom specializes in aligning your company's purpose with the right technical talent to ensure long-term success.
I love helping build an empowering company for others to join and foster a better community. I’m passionate about helping our customers find brilliant architecture, engineering, and manufacturing professionals. The products they design and engineer are very awe-inspiring, and I’m so proud Konik can help introduce companies and talent who create a better world.
